Busy Day

Another summer like day. I spent a chunk of the day with the grandchildren- celebrating my granddaughter’s 9th birthday which we missed last weekend since she gave her cold to everyone!

I’m loving what’s happening in the new, low water garden in the front - where we took out the lawn early this year. The colors and textures are fabulous. We run the irrigation on this garden once a week - next summer, after a wet winter, we’ll reduce the water even more.

In this photo: Lavender, Cistus, Helianthemum, Sweet Alyssum and Tagetes tenuifolia or Signet Marigold. The last two are fabulous low water, full sun annuals.
