Ramsons

Ramsons (Allium ursinum), wild garlic, or bears garlic is a relative of the chive family. It grows in abundance here in damp woodland. Unmistakable just now as the smell is very strong.

This was taken in my local wood where the bluebells and garlic are just about in flower, a day or two of warm weather should do it. It was very wet today so I had a very wet walk in the woodlands but it was warm and humid and I very much enjoyed it. I find I am walking slower and slower these days as everything catches my eye for a photograph but having fun exploring.

Cuckoo, Willow warbler, chiff chaff all calling and a red squirrel scampering around which I was not quick enough to photograph for you. Lots of waterfalls everywhere following the heavy rain we have had
