Inside the Vaults

An Oxford tourist day with my visiting family, including my first tour round Oxford Castle and Prison. The site has a long and very interesting history, from the building of the castle in 1071 to the closure of the prison in 1996. Pictured are the vaults of St George’s Chapel, with the decorated pillars dating back to Norman times.
