Calais to Nuits St.Georges

THANKS FOR ALL THE COMMENTS ON MY ACTION SHOT YESTERDAY. I WAS ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED YOU LIKED IT. sorry I can't respond at the moment, only brief spells on the computer:)

An early ferry from Dover to Calais . The weather for the crossing was beautiful. A fairly leisurely drive to Nuits St.Georges, about 400 miles. I arrived here at 4pm. I had booked a hotel in a Chateau. It was much the same price as an Ibis Hotel.

I later wondered why I booked it as I no longer drink wine on medical advice. Stupid doctors:))

I couldn't really go wrong! Well, I did.

I found it easily enough and it was beautiful, stunning in fact. But deserted. I wandered around and found some men looking a bit down in the mouth. Did we not send you an e-mail to say we have been closed for three days? No, I replied, I have been travelling.

It turns out the whole place had been flooded!! I had seen lakes by the motorway on the way down, but thought nothing of it.

Such a shame, the weather was now beautiful and there was the most picturesque waterwheel you have ever seen. The flood had subsided but you can see the wet field around it.

They had arranged for me to stay in a castle 9 Kms away. Could I find it? No!!

So I'm in the Ibis!! But they did let me blip the waterwhhel before I left!!

Tomorrow, I leave here at sunrise heading for Milau.

Have a good evening everyone.
