Playing with pallets again

The huge log pile is gradually being tamed into neat rows. There are 2 round Norwegian style log piles at the right of the shot built by the team of log splitters before we took over to do the rest.  After a lot of research on YouTube we decided that long rows will take up less space, although they don't look quite as attractive. Hopefully the next dry day will let us finish the job. The logs which have been drying for 2 years will keep us warm this winter, All these new ones will need time to dry out. 

The maple tree at the back  has lost almost all its lovely red leaves in this week's winds.
