Golden Russet

Friday is always knitting day and a chance to catch up with my buddies. I'm still working on The Eternal Second Sock and I can't wait to finish it. 

I made a lemon tart in the afternoon--the cold, damp, and overcast afternoon, which needed brightening up. It's felt like winter for days here in town. Less than a half hour away, up in the hills, it's too hot for my friend to work in the garden. "Oh, I had to come in," she said, "to cool off."  And I had to bake a tart to warm up.
