Welcome!

I was hugely relieved when the washing machine was finally delivered rather late this afternoon. I had become increasingly anxious that, being number 19 on a list of what I guessed to be twenty deliveries, it might be abandoned if the driver was running late - this has happened to us a few times, our address always seems to be at the end of every route. Over two weeks without a working washing machine has been quite hard going: J generates a lot of laundry, and although I can hand wash, it's awkward to wring everything by hand, with cool, damp weather adding further to the extended drying times. Shiny new appliances are a rarity for us, so there was some novelty value in watching the coloured fabrics turning and rotating in the bubbly water. Washing machines are miraculous things!
