Flower Friday
It was our turn to lead a walk for our group today, just a local walk. The forecast didn’t look great but there were 11 of us. One lady was new to walking recently after the passing of her husband earlier in the year. It didn’t bode well that she was shod inappropriately and unfortunately she was very slow so my husband held back and walked with her and we had lent her a pole which she found very useful. We had a light downpour while we sheltered for our coffee break. Everyone enjoyed the walk and we were able to see more progress on the river restoration project which is due to finish next spring. The lady who was poorly shod, the sole broke away from one of her shoes and my husband landed up going to get the car to take her back. I didn’t find this out u til we returned home. She needs some shorter walks to get used to walking again.
When we arrived home, we had taken delivery of both a spindle tree and a witch hazel. We managed to plant the spindle tree but the hazle will have to wait until Sunday. We are off to visit my in-laws tomorrow.
We have a very pretty pink sky as I write this. A dahlia from my garden for flower Friday today, thanks to Biker Bear.
