Ode ad urbem

The one colleague from whom I haven't felt whole-hearted warmth told me today that she is very stressed about a task that is the responsibility of us both plus a colleague who has Covid but on which she is the lead. We agreed that our employer has some bewildering processes that are completely obscure.

The task deadline is next Friday and I won't be in the office on either Thursday or Friday. I've told her I'll dedicate my working days next week (Monday and Wednesday) to it and by Wednesday afternoon we'll either have succeeded or we'll go down together.

No-one will die as a result.
