Clatteringshaws Loch

Today's the day . . . . . . . for a sleepover

It's our 49th Wedding Anniversary today - so we thought we would take ourselves off for a little overnight break.  And because we live in such a beautiful part of the country, we really don't have to go far from home to feel that we are on holiday.

We're spending the night in St John's Town of Dalry which is maybe 30 miles away - but we've taken all day to get here - and on the way, we have spent time in the most lovely places.  The above is Clatteringshaws Loch, the source of the River Dee and itself a reservoir supplying water for the Galloway Hydro Power System.

The extras are The Murray Monument, some of the autumnal flora and fungi - and finally, the happy couple . . . . . . !
