Reunion

I had a nice outing with my mom after being gone for almost a month. I told her that I'd been in Portugal and that I'd been in an ocean paddling race, and that I won my age division. Instantly she said, "Well that's good." Habitual social nicety? Comprehension? Either way, I'll take it!
