Great Blue Heron

Always a treat to find one of these majestic herons in a photogenic setting. This big blue was along the edge of the marsh that borders the Salish Sea. While out on my bike taking photos this morning, I also spotted a beaver (extra) sitting in the sun grooming itself.  The beaver was far enough away to be at the limits of my 50-200 lens but it is not that common to spot a beaver around here so I took a chance on snapping this rather distant photo.
