Lock 27, Forth and Clyde Canal
Another early morning trip to the Forth and Clyde Canal on the way for a swim - but not in the canal! After a great deal of preening on the bank the lone swan slid into the water and headed for the lock. It swam back and forth, back and forth, and could not see a way of negotiating the drop. All it had to do was walk along the bank, but it looked as if it had not encountered this barrier before.
Anyway I had to leave and have no idea whether the penny eventually dropped or it's still swimming up and down waiting for the lock gates to open!
