Heading home

Our ferry home was about 4pm for check-in so we had pretty much a full day on Arran today.

CyclopsJnr wanted a game of air hockey and a final swim, so we did those things before we left the hotel. It has been an ideal hotel for us (Auchrannie Resort) and we'd love to come again. CyclopsJnr is doing really well with the swimming now and he was able to jump in and confidently swim 50m without us swimming alongside. His stroke... still needs work. But it does the job at least.

MrsCyclops wanted to go up to Lochranza where we saw the ruined castle, skimmed some stones, and saw three deer walking in the road!

Cyclops wanted to visit the distillery at Lochranza, so we went to their lovely cafe for lunch then cyclops bought some whisky.

We then took the longer route back to Brodick, meaning over the last few days we'd been right round the island and across the middle both ways.

We then had time to stock up of local produce - cheese, beer, chocolate and fancy soap.

Efficient and uneventful ferry and car journey home, plenty time for our Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire audio book, and arriving home about 7.30pm.

This has been a very successful holiday which we'd like to repeat.

But that's not all! This half term fortnight will include two long weekends away. Better put a wash on.
