"Sunnyside"

Very badly named; at least on the day I visited.

It appears that Sunnyside was one of the villages incorporated in the town of Coatbridge, while the station itself opened in 1863, having been built by the Monklands and Kirkintilloch Railway, one of Scotland's oldest, which began operations in 1826. A long, wet, wait though till the station was actually built in 1888.
