WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

By lizzie_birkett

Cheeky Swan!

He hangs about the boat begging for food and he can certainly put it away! Whichever window we are at he is there, tapping for attention.
We do give him some bread but also oatcakes, corn cakes and rice cakes. I’ve tried giving him peas and lettuce but he turns his beak up at it.
Today I’m feeling better than yesterday but still have head pain when I cough and just feel tired.
I’ve not been keeping up with poems or Inktober but what the heck.
I want to keep the poems going so here are a couple.
One is about a very windy day last week and the other about Covid.

Blowin’ a Hoolie!

The branches are bouncing,
the leaves are flouncing
like Bohemian dancers
doing the can-can.
All golden and rouge
and other Autumn hues
they rustle like petticoats
made of satin.

Covid Dreams

I never thought it would get me
I have such good immunity
But it did!
That spiky wee ball of Covid.

I didn’t surface for three days
and when I did I was in a daze
was I at home or on the boat
was I really dizzy or just afloat

I lay in bed and had weird dreams
one of them almost made me scream
for a thief had taken my dog and bag
I was so glad to waken and see her tail wag!

It’s a beautiful day here today.

Thanks for all your lovely comments, stars and hearts Blippers.
You really are the best bunch of people ever. ;-) X
