I often (but not always) find it's easier to be up front when you could have done something differently (better). I gave my line manager the heads up on my project issue this morning so at least he can't say (if he remembers) he wasn't aware. I then spent the afternoon preparing the way out of the mess. I think we're there, barring a few numbers that the finance people need to clarify and a few benefits that the business people need to confirm. There will still be a lot of grumpy people on Thursday when the options are presented but hey ho, it's this option or nothing.

I'm not sure a lot else has happened today, other than I noticed that in 50 days time, I'll be on a plane heading south.  I will be counting.
