The Old and the New

I was on my way home from taking the kitten to Wetheral for a check, so I rang the changes and came home through Armathwaite. 

The view looks down the River Eden, with Armathwaite Castle on the right, and the glint of a geodesic dome (new greenhouse) down by the newly renovated Mill.   It’s a lovely walk through the woods, but a very vocal Edie was waiting in the car, and she isn’t yet ready to pretend that she’s a dog. 

Mum and Dad lived in a flat in the castle when they were first married. In reality it was probably cold and damp, but what a romantic spot.
