The stonemasons are doing an incredible job of repairing this huge sandstone wall that runs the perimeter of Dalkeith Palace. Apparently there is over 17 miles of wall, built by prisoners of the Napoleonic Wars. It does not like being so close to the roads though and all the salt that is put down in winter does not help the erosion process
