Rocky Mountain maple

Yes, we have golden aspens here in the fall, but today while hiking along a stream I came across small bushes with beautiful red leaves.
According to the plant ID app on my phone, this is a Rocky Mountain maple. I've seen the occasional big maple tree planted in yards, but I've never seen the wild version.
