Feels like Fall

Despite the fairly warm temperature, it was windy, smoky and the light is definitely shifting. Although it's actually Columbus Day here in the states - a federal holiday, there was plenty of work going on. But I took advantage of a quiet afternoon to go back to the chaise lounge with my book ;-)

The dahlias are still gorgeous! This one was a gift from a friend who didn't want it anymore...can you even imagine?
