Colchicum and Toast
Having the greenhouse so close to the back door is good! I can wander out in my pyjamas (!) when I let Meg out first thing or take my marmalade on toast and have breakfast out there. There's always something new to see at the moment as the autumn bulbs appear and there'll always be something interesting to see ... all year round :-)
As yesterday, a nice morning walk with C and the Megs, making the most of the best bit of the day ... and we were both working later on. Lunch at Jamie's, his home grown peppers roasted with chicken, tomatoes, onion, garlic and potatoes. Yummy! A siesta before work which started and ended with some cleaning and the main course was playing barman for the attendees at a presentation by the CEO of the Puffing Billy Railway in Australia. We're twinned with the Puffing Billy, having quite a lot in common although their passenger numbers pre-pandemic of over 500,000 per year are in a different league.
Colchicum baytopiorum, a pretty little Turkish species distinctive for the yellow markings in the throat of the flower.
