Mute Swans

I went out to walk around the lochsides in Stenness hoping for otters, but wind and rain forecast to arrive later turned up early and I took refuge in the bird hide at Barnhouse. The only birds nearby were some swans. Distantly - cormorant, heron, raven, greylag geese, and tufted duck. It was also nice to see a female long-tailed duck in flight, my first of the autumn.
