Horse of a Different Color

This painted horse stands in front of the Ocala office of the Florida Breeder's Association. It's design includes representations of the "silks" of 14 of the breeding farms and racing stables in Marion County. This year's Kentucky Derby which will be run later this afternoon will have more than a dozen horses with connections to area farms in the 19 horse field. .... and they're off.

Update: The Derby was won by Orb - broken and early trained in Ocala, winner of the Florida Derby and three other races before today's victory.
