Saturday: Jesus Dwelling

Our plan for today was to stay local and get to know the ins and outs of Belmopan a bit better.  It’s a city based on a ring road but there are little streets all around which we feel we need to get to know better.  

Before we headed out we had a couple of catch up calls with family in the UK.  We spoke to my aunty who we stayed with when we were home.  She got chatting to a security guard yesterday, at the local hospital, who told her that he’d been in the army and his last posting was Belize.  Long story short, he knows our housekeeper and had swum in our pool.  What a small world.

Anyway, we were out for a good long time today, getting supplies in and getting our bearings around town.  It’s all starting to make sense.

There are a lot of churches in Belize and also in Belmopan.  I’ll say a little more about them, and their role here, at a later date.
