Evening light
Took part in a singing day arranged by the Plymouth Philharmonic Choir of which I am a member. We had an amazing conductor who took us through some exercises to facilitate singing and gave us tips to improve the production of sound! We did some choruses from Brahms, Handel and Bach and we sang Jerusalem and a modern piece whose composer I have forgotten already, brain freeze! It was The Magnificat in a responsive form. The seconds repeated the firsts after different intervals!
We had been joined by a group of youngsters called the Legacy choir who are heading off to the USA in a couple of weeks to share their songs and joy in music making!
They sang the cantors part and we all responded ! It was a piece new to all of us with huge numbers of accidentals and not particularly tuneful however we made a relatively good fist of it in the impromptu concert we have at the end for friends and family, mainly of the youngsters!
It was a beautiful day out so when I got home at 17.00 I went out for a walk by the sea! After two fairly lengthy phone calls while out I caught this beautiful sight which coincidentally had the yacht passing by appearing to glide along the railing!
