Dd will post more shots but here we are with the next two generations of our family in Fife. We met in Morrisons in Kirkcaldy just in case my mum had wanted to come, too - all on the flat, easy access toilets etc. However, the weather was horrendous and she decided to skip the unending motorway rain lashing. Still, it was an inspired choice as the kids become engrossed in decorating their ginger bread men at the table and didn’t mind the adults catching up for the first time face to face in three years! The youngest, Hannah, is a live wire and super outgoing, charming the staff and being presented with a complementary tray of doughnuts in appreciation!

It was a long day with over three hundred miles done in more or less relentlessly bad conditions but worth it - seeing the youngsters and Dd’s Busboy and partner, Debbie, as well. BBC Radios 2 and 4 made the outward and homeward bound journeys pass easily.
