Left Behind

On todays walk I found these the two mushrooms, a cauliflower mushroom  and a penny bun (correct me if I'm wrong) left behind on a border stone. The penny bun was huge!
Both are very good edible mushrooms. Who would pick them and then leave them behind? To be taken away by someone else walking by? But who would? Why not leave them where they were? I don't understand that.
Would you have taken them home with you? I was tempted, but in the end left them on the borderstone for someone more brave. I've never taken any home with me, I only shoot them....
