And We’re Off

Early start, out of the house and on our way so as to have breakfast at Strawberry Fields, a farm shop and restaurant at Lifton, about an hour from Falmouth. We were also tempted by cake and quiche to take with us.
Onwards across Dartmoor towards our destination, River Dart Country Park, where we were to meet the others and camp for the weekend. A brief ‘comfort break’ at Badgers Holt reminded me of past time, I visited with my parents when I was a young boy and at some point all four of my children have played in the River Dart here, jumping from boulder to boulder and just as I did they ended up soaked.
We arrived at midday, all around the same time, and in no time we set up in the drizzle and after coffee and cake settled down for a beer or two, really good to see Mrs S relaxing.
We went up to the main building early with our two pint steins and settled for the evening. By around 8:30 - 9:00pm things started to get a little hazy so we retired to bed.
