Bedfordshire Postbox number one

Thought I’d try and get a few different post boxes from around the area, and starting off with this quite local one from Ickwell village, on my travels today to the farm shop.

This is quite an old one. It’s obviously been repainted lots over the years as it’s thick with paint especially around the V R letters at the top.

VR cypher. From Queen Victorias reign. Wall Box style. Probably around 1890.


If anyone knows of any more specific way (or website) of dating them please let me know.
