Alcazaba
We were up and out early today, our last full day in Málaga. First of all a wander (more a forced march, some parts had tricky steps) around the Alcazaba fort, which is a really interesting series of buildings with some beautiful views out over the city. It was originally a tenth century Moorish fortification and various palaces were built and developed over the intervening centuries since then.
The fort is at the foot of Mount Gibralfaro, which we subsequently climbed to visit the castle at the top. I was absolutely punctured by the steep climb but joy of joys, discovered that there was a bar at the top! No kidding! Spanish folk have got town planning sussed.
We had lunch down at the seafront beside the cruise ships and have just sauntered back to the hotel for our siesta. I like the pace of life here. :-)
