Along the canal

With slightly gritted teeth I did the risk assessment in pouring, sometimes torrential rain for the long canal walk from Bowling back to the city centre. I have never seen so many moorhen, hundreds. A chap said they have several broods a year which explains why they were all different shapes and colours. Several heron including the blip one just under the Erskine Bridge, and a very bold fox outside the community centre near Westerton.
Back home and straight into a drawing session on zoom for National Badger Day. I have just put my effort on the family WhatsApp, 50% thought  it was a bear and the others guessed correctly.
The extra is not the badger, it’s two of the moorhen juveniles.
