National Poetry Day

This is Hugo, he’s a beagle
He steals things like he is a seagull
Bags of crisps or oatcakes
Loaves of bread or fresh bakes
But never from banks, that’s illegal!

I must sometimes give the impression that Hugo is always stealing things. That’s not quite true as there was one day last week when he didn’t help himself to anything, as far as I know!
However, yesterday he committed a heinous crime!
He stole one of my Tunnocks Teacakes!
I admit that the evidence is circumstantial, but, one of the teacakes was missing, the wrapper was on the floor and Hugo was licking his lips!!
The extra is of the ones he didn’t get!
