Autumn Colours
Today started with awful weather; strong winds and torrential rain but H and I decided to brave it and went for an outing to a branch of that famous Swedish store near Birmingham. H drove and despite the awful weather conditions we arrived without incident and hurried into the store with the usual excitement. Shook ourselves out of our wet outer garments and then off to the café for a coffee and a warm up. There was a time when I loved every bit of my shopping experience in said Swedish store but now at a slightly more advanced age my physical stamina lets me down about halfway round, meanwhile H (fair bit younger than me) is up for looking at everything in every corner of every display! After lunch we continued the shopping experience, even spending much time in the children’s’ department (H being a brand new grandmother) with me nearly on my knees with only a trolley for support! Then we’re nearing the end, or so I thought, but H had other ideas ……. Before the checkout she’s entered the bargain hunters bit ….. deep joy.
Once through the checkouts, and after packing our bootie (mostly H’s) we’re on our way home in lovely calm weather with blue skies and lots of Autumn glory to be seen along the way.
I think know I’ll sleep well tonight!
