Live fast, die young
The Hare's Foot Inkcap, another fairly frequent find in our garden. This is it in its immature furry form. Some fungi last for months or years. The Hare's Foot Inkcap isn't one of them, these live fast and die young. I hope to get one more shot of it but they can go through their entire above ground visible lifecycle in less than 48 hours. During that time they are completely transformed, the cap will lose its furry coat and become flat, then bowl shaped before it all disappears in an inky black squidge. Here's one I made earlier.
