Diary of an Edinburgher

Walk in the Gardens

When I eventually got up, Archie and I went for a walk. There doesn’t seem to be any hurry to get up on a cold, dreich day, but I can’t get too slack - it’s not even winter yet!

We took the bus into town, walked through the Gardens, and then got the other bus home. Actually, it was surprisingly warm, and it didn’t rain, though it had been wet, which for me, means that I can’t sit down for a rest on any of the dozens of inviting benches in the Gardens!

In the afternoon, I took to ringing the travel company - the person we’ve been dealing with for ages seems to have disappeared. No answer, in fact, the email was ‘undeliverable’. I’ve now found out that she’s on maternity leave. So her emails have just been ignored??? I don’t think so. However, I’m in touch with another agent who is going to look into possibilities and come back with a few ideas. City break? Train trip? Warm weather?

JR went into town for a browse, which is one of her favourite pastimes. She could not live in a village, nor yet even in a town. She’s a city lass.
