Unitarian Church, Ullet Road - Byrne Jones windows
It was Tony's funeral today (those who know, know). He was a great mentor to us, both professionally and personally, and a general all round good guy. Funny, erudite and knew how to throw a fine party. The wake was in the library of the church and we weren't supposed to be in this bit (security got a bit nervous, but left us to it in the end). I wanted to show Frank the Byrne Jones windows. It was a kind of fitting tribute to Tony. I think he would have approved at the minor insurrection. He didn't like authority and he never really conformed.
He's left a big hole and I have no real idea how his widow kept it together. I had no words. Just a hug.
And a couple of glasses of wine.
