Birthday Adventure

Well today is my birthday, but as I've still got the cast on my leg, my celebration options are limited. Am I going to let this get me down?? No!
So, there I was sunbathing on the balcony with a festive birthday cuppa, when in flew quite a large bee. (Your horizons, as I've said before, tend to be limited when not able-bodied.) I've always noticed bees buzzing around and thought that they knew how to fly, to take off, to land, to hover around sources of nectar, or painted flowers on mugs that look deceptively lifelike. Well, I was wrong! This specimen did a crash landing on the balcony wall ending up on his/her back with all the feelers twitching manically. Then he managed to right himself and headed unsteadily in the opposite direction from the cup of tea!

So, confused? Who knows? But I thought I'd share this little adventure with you. Of course he might have come to celebrate with me and have started the party a bit too early. Anyway, it's nearly lunch time now , so, I'm off to crack open the Prosecco!
