Whithorn

A very ancient place on the west coast of Scotland.  Religious remains are some of the earliest in Britain.  St Ninians Church is from approximately 400 ad. The stone cross featured is the Monteith cross and predates the church and is thought not to be religious.  The pattern of interlaced cords is celtic and called the Whithorn pattern I think. To be honest I have been told and read so much information today I am not sure of anything. We visited the museum, the round house and an exhibition space too, as well as making our way to the headland called the Isle of Whithorn.  I chose to upload the cross because of the celtic pattern and the case because of the nit comb.
