Marble Staircase

This is a shot of the marble staircase, situated within the Glasgow City Chambers.

Built between 1882 and 1888, William Young, a Glasgow architect, visited many locations in Italy, before finalising his design.

This staircase was build specifically to be grander, longer and higher than the one situated within the Vatican.

If visiting Glasgow, or even if you live in the City, take advantage of the daily free tours - its well worth it.
