Cinco de Mayo
Sorry, it was pretty late when I entered this blip and I didn't write a description last night. I always love the Cinco de Mayo celebration at school, especially the assembly the kids put on. It is so colorful and fun, especially the girls in their customary dancing dresses. At lunch, they set up a sound system in the courtyard and played LOUD Mexican music. I went down to take some pictures, and before I knew it, the music pulled me right into the center of the fray. I danced my socks off, and the kids loved it. In fact, they encircled me and clapped and laughed. The sun was warm, there was a light breeze, all the kids were smiling and laughing...it was just one of those moments to appreciate. It really swept me into an emotional look at my teaching experience; what a joyful ride it's been. Yesterday, I read a bit of wisdom from a daily source, and it said, "Look to see what good things you want to do while you still have time." I danced with these fine kids in celebration in the sun...that was a good thing.
