Forward and back

Our clocks went forward yesterday. It’s an odd expression. The clocks don’t go anywhere, although their hands do go forward, I suppose. I had to search to find an old fashioned clock with a face, where at least you can imagine the hands moving forward or back.
 
It’s called ‘daylight saving’, too, which is also odd, since obviously we don’t get any more, or less, daylight, just daylight at a more appropriate time.

Anyway, it was an excuse to photograph this pretty clock on our patio.
