Treat

After a busy morning cleaning and packing for the weekend, I picked SparseRunner up on his way back from Berlin and headed to the wonderful Moor of Rannoch Restaurant and Rooms, next to Rannoch Station. I had been there once before walking with friends and really wanted to come back with SparseRunner, so booked it as an early birthday treat (though that's just an excuse). I knew he would like it. It is also dog friendly so we could have Django with us. We were treated to a  wonderful taster meal. We chose a starter, main course and dessert, but in between there are lots of other small dishes - pistachio dip, scallop with seaweed and lime, gluten-free corn bread that melt in the mouth with truffle and honey butter.... Rannoch Station is very remote and there was no wifi or phone signal, but that adds to the charm.
