First Aid

The strong wind and rain yesterday left a casualty in the garden. When I looked out of the kitchen window, I saw that the lovely smoke bush which has come on so well during the past year looked just a shadow of its former self. On closer inspection, I found that one of the main branches had split although the two parts were still connected lower down the stem. From experience, N suggested that binding the two parts together and staking them against future winds just might save this half of my lovely shrub. The job was done and now we await the passage of time to see whether this will be successful.
