Hedgehog Night

It was exciting crossing the river to Dartmouth on the lower ferry. There was a strong wind and it was raining heavily, but we had to get to the town hall for a hedgehog talk. A vital journey. To stay dry we went in a cafe and then the Dartmouth Arms for pre talk fish and chips. The pub is next to the water and at the next table a few old salts were swapping tales of modern pirates, and adventures at sea. The hedgehog talk, organised by Sustainable Dartmouth, was by Hugh Warwick, renowned author, speaker, campaigner and champion of hedgehogs. Not only was it informative, it was very funny. The man also does a bit of stand up comedy. There was a big audience, despite the weather and the political climate making you want to hibernate for a year. It was calm, dry, and moonlit for the voyage back.
