San Juan deAmandi, Villaviciosa
San Juan, or San Xuan, de Amandi was established at the start of the 13th century, probably on the site of a church from the 9th century; and although regarded as rural, it is also regarded as one of the jewels of Asturian Romanesque.
It was attacked and burned during the Civil War as a reprisal against the Catholic Church for their support for Franco; and was subsequently restored.
