Last Full Day..........

..........in Galveston, Texas and the USA! - We are flying home tomorrow!!
There are a number of Historic Houses in the City and this one we both particularly liked. There are quite a lot of them built around the end of the 1800s and they are very ornate - unfortunately there was no time to see them all.
We liked Galveston very much indeed and wished we had booked our Hotel for a third night. The Baymont Hotel was very pleasant and the staff, as with all but one of the other hotels, - ( the exception was, in fact the most expensive we stayed at although it's position was wonderful) - were very friendly, welcoming and willing to help in any way they could. We had our own private balcony and a great view of the sea. It was exceptionally good for me as alhough our room was non-smoking (Anni doesn't smoke and tells me off for doing so!) - I could, poviding the door into our room was kept closed.
We were sad that our holiday was ending - it's been a really good one - the weather in the main has been very kind to us in as much as the the rain - athough heavy - has been at night. During the day the temperature has been in the high 70s and low 80s with a lovely breeze.
We set off for Houston in the afternoon for our overnight flight back to the UK. The time has gone much too quickly.
We are already planning our next visit to the States!
