Youth revisited...
Tonight I brought my mother (right on the picture) to a book launch in Nouvelle. Mrs. Bois, a local lady, wrote a book on rural schools around 1940. My mother was invited because she taught in one of the schools of Nouvelle in that time. In fact, two of her sisters, Martha and Gilberte, also taught in these schools at the same time.
She met a lot of people, mostly former students, and was very happy. I think it made her feel young again. She's 85 and full of life. Here she is with Martine Fallu, a former student.
A few years after that time, she had to quit teaching. She wanted to get married and married women were not allowed to teach. She eventually came back to it when the law changed, thanks to Laure Gaudreault.
