After the failure of Maoile Lunndaidh on Wednesday, honour was restored on Thursday.
Reader, I climbed my 17th Corbett! Am Bathach. Having fetched Loki (he called shotgun) and then Barry and Fenton / Logan, we proceeded to c rawl around the city bypass before getting stuck behind a wide load just after Perth, roadworks at multiple places but still arriving only 15 minutes after my stated ETA.
Arrived? At Glen Sheil, just along from the Cluanie Inn. Off we trudged into an 'improving day' (copyright MWIS) and straight up the steady grassy slopes of Am Bathach. Loki lead the way, Logan lead Barry a merry dance, shooting off to sniff out deer at every opportunity. He did keep coming back, though, so Logan's first leash free hill walking!
Once Am Bathach was knocked off, it seemed appropriate to soldier on to the major prize of the day - Ciste Dubh. My 228th Munro, Barry's 190th and Loki's 3rd.
A decent hill in excellent surroundings; Kintail / Glen Affric / SGSR all close at hand.
6 hours and I was back at the car, feeding the poor starving puppy; Barry a mere 10 minutes behind.
Then back off down the road; cherry cola in Pitlochry, chips in Perth, and finally on the sofa for half past midnight.
Oh yes. FCP? Pah!
