A Glamorous Snail
I slept well, so did Basil, but Len claimed to be awake most of the night worrying about nothing.
We were very grateful to my uncle David for putting us up overnight. After a leisurely breakfast of cereal and toast, we departed to go back into Cheltenham. The clinic called just as we were leaving to say that an appointment had become free at 11:10 so we were able to meet that.
Len dropped Basil and me off at the Meadow Cafe where I had two lattes and a bacon sarnie while waiting for him. Basil had a rasher of bacon. Today, we had a table and chairs inside. Len turned up shortly before 1 pm.
After a wet start, the sun eventually came out and the weather was extremely pleasant as we motored home through the Cotswolds becoming greyer and more ominous as we made our way north. We reached Shepshed by 4 pm.
The trees and hedgerows further south are turning colour very attractively. (see extra). Not so much in the north Midlands.
The snail? Is on David's patio. His stepson's ex mother in law used to buy these snails as a job lot and then paint them. I thought this one looked rather glamorous.
